Yoosung Music Awards 2012

It's finally the end of 2012. This will be the last year of Yoosung Music Awards. Thanks all for your support in all these years! There'll be no nominees this year, so the winners will be announced right away. All the winners are based on repeated songs played, performance views and favouritism. So, let's reveal the winners! Congrats to them for winning in this last season of music awards.

BEST SOLO ROOKIE
AILEE

Having debut in the drama Dream High 2, Ailee show-casts her powerful voice in her debut single, Heaven. Besides having won several times in Immortal Songs, her singles are doing very well in music charts and music programs too.

BEST ROOKIE
B.A.P

B.A.P is absolutely the best rookie in all years. Having debut in January with Warrior, the group has made various comebacks throughout the years. I like each of their singles; Warrior, Power, No Mercy, Crash and Stop It. Thus, there are total of 5 comebacks in a year! Their hardwork should be much appreciated and I see no reason why they can't win this award.

MOST PROMISING GROUP

TEEN TOP

Teen Top surely has risen a lot of popularity this year with their hit-topping single, Crazy. Before this, I didn't pay much attention to them but Crazy is so much addicting. Having collaborating with the KPOP-hit-producer Brave Brothers is the right choice for them. Moreover, their sharp choreography and flawless live singing are much impressed. Hope Teen Top will continue to rise to the TOP as they're named.

BEST PRODUCER
BRAVE BROTHERS

Nothing much to introduce about Brave Brothers for a K-Pop fans. His musics are like drugs to me, cause I could get addicted to it and having his songs to keep on being repeating and repeating.
So I just list down the songs that I'm addicted to in this year.
Sistar's "Alone", "Lead Me"
Teen Top's "Crazy", "Girlfriend", "To You", "Baby U", "Be Ma Girl"
Electroboyz's "Should I Cry or Smile"
Big Star's "Hot Boy", "생각나", "내일은 뭐하지", "느낌이와"
Brave Girls' "요즘너"
HyunA's "Ice Cream"

BEST FEMALE SOLO SINGER

BOA

The Queen of K-Pop has finally returned to Only One. Rather than having mediocre song from her previous comeback "Hurricane Venus", "Only One" truly brings out the true style of BoA - singing and dancing in live performance.

BEST MALE SOLO SINGER
K.WILL

K.Will's voice is so emotional that there could be a strike to your heart when listening to it. Having his comeback earlier this February with "니가 필요해" which is quite an upbeat song, his second comeback with "이러지마 제발" just proves his stand as one of the best soloist in Korea. Congrats to K.Will too for winning the second consecutive time!

MOST FAVOURITE GROUP
TEEN TOP

It's time for the Grand Prizes. Instead of separating Most Favourite Group into Female and Male Group, this award has been combined this year. So, congrats to Teen Top for winning Most Favourite Group. These boys surely has their own charms which can attract people to keep an eye on them. Besides their 100% of performance on stage, they also have their humourous sides which can be seen on their variety shows. I've met them in May 2012 too.

BEST GROUP
SISTAR

At last, I can proudly say the B.E.S.T group for this year will be SiSTAR as they were the Most Favourite Female Group last year. Just as their propaganda, 'We are the B.E.S.T SiSTAR', they have proven that indeed they are the best group in this year. It's undeniable how much love and popularity risen for SiSTAR with their '나 혼자' and continuing the success, "Loving U" has pushed SiSTAR to the top position. This can be seen when "Loving U" and "나 혼자" are both ranked at #2 and #4 respectively on the yearly K-Chart (source KBS Music Bank) and ranked #2 for "나 혼자" and #4 for "Loving U" on MelOn Yearly chart (source MelOn).

BEST ALBUM
SE7EN

Se7en too, has made his long-awaited comeback in January this year. "When I Can't Sing" has show his flawless vocal. The reason why this album is the best album of the year is because all the songs are really nice. It's hard to choose between K.Will's The 3rd Album Part 1 and Big Bang's Still Alive but I believe Se7en is one of the best masterpiece.

SONGS OF THE YEAR

#1 SiSTAR "ALONE'

A mid-tempo song which can be very addicting, accompanied with the sad lyrics of being alone. However, the upbeat music plus the strong choreography of SiSTAR in live performance have added value to this song.

 #2 TEEN TOP "TO YOU"

Teen Top's second single in this year, To You. Again, this song is produced by Brave Sound. Smooth and neat choreography, besides the addicting sound of 우후후후~ ㅋㅋㅋ

#3 SiSTAR "LOVING U"

The summer single, Loving U. Frankly, I don't really like summer song but this is an exceptional. A very upbeat and cheerful song which reminisce the holiday mood.

YSP Music Awards 2011 (Nomination)

BEST ALBUM

MBLAQ - BLAQSTYLE
Big Bang - 4th Mini Album
BEAST - Fact and Fiction
2NE1 - 2nd Mini Album
IU - Last Fantasy
mBlaq starts off the year with their first full studio album, Blaqstyle. I like one of their title song, Cry. But then they promote the other title song which is "Stay" more. Nevertheless, most of the songs in this album are quite nice. I like "Rust" the most especially.
The songs in Big Bang's 4th mini albums are surprising awesome. You will never get tired listening of it and most of the songs will catch your attention to keep listening to it. Too YG/ Big Bang's style. It'd be great if you're a fan of it.
Not to forget Beast's first full studio album "Fact and Fiction". Most of the songs are ballads, to my surprise. What made me to say so because most of Beast's previous title songs were quite upbeat. However, playing all the songs in this album will not make you bored.
2NE1's 2nd mini album is one of the best. Just imagine, not one or two songs in this album are chart toppers, but ALL of the songs in it are.
And at last, IU's Last Fantasy album which comprised most ballads. Besides the title track You and I, "Secret" and "Teacher" are my favourites.

BEST SOLO FEMALE

Park Bom "Don't Cry"
G.NA "Black & White", "Top Girl"
HyunA "Bubble Pop"

IU "Good Day, The Story Only I Didn't Know, You and I"
Usually in Kpop scene, there are less competition in the solo artist category. This year, we got to see 2 members from 2 different releasing solo singles; Park Bom from 2NE1 and HyunA from 4minute. Although Park Bom didn't do any promotional cycle for Don't Cry, the song still manage to top all the real time chart. And as for HyunA, she is more busy than her own group 4minute. Beginning with the comeback of 4minute in April, she continued with her solo comeback with "Bubble Pop" in July and now debuting as a sub-unit group with BEAST's Hyunseung as Trouble Maker in November. This proves that she has the power to go solo and indeed Cube Entertainment just invest highly on her.
G.Na who debut last year gained much popularity this year with her comeback song "Black & White" in January. However, most people just focus more on her figures, rather than her voice. I believe she has the talent to sing song more challenging than Black & White and Top Girl like her debut single. A solo female artist to be looked upon on in the future. Anyway, she's one of the queen of endorsement in Korea now.
And IU surely has a fruitful year this year continue from her song last December "Good Day". No need much comment on her - loveable and flawless performance.

BEST SOLO MALE
K.Will "My Heart is Beating"

Jay Park "Abandoned"
Kim Hyun Joong "Breakdown", "Lucky"
Lee Seung Gi "Because We're Friends", "Love Generation"
K.Will finally won his first ever Mutizen with his song, My Heart is Beating. A much talented singer and I'm looking forward to his comeback song.
Jaebeom has finally back with his debut single, "Abandoned" and has won 2 K-Charts. He's still active and keep on producing singles from time to time. Alongside, Kim Hyun Joong is also back with his solo debut single "Breakdown" and has won few awards in music programs. Promising Hallyu stars!!
Lee Seung Gi is finally back with his fourth album after two years hiatus. I like his pre-title track, Love Generation more. Too bad, he just promote for two weeks (yeah because he would just being overshadowed at that time). Still, he managed to grab one Mutizen.

MOST PROMISING GROUP
U-Kiss "0330", "Neverland"
SiSTAR "Ma Boy", "So Cool"
Secret "Shy Boy", "Starlight, Moonlight", "Love is Move"
f(x) "Pinocchio", "Hot Summer"
Infinite "BTD", "Nothing's Over", "Be Mine", "Paradise"
Orange Caramel "Bangkok City", "Shanghai Romance"
U-Kiss with a huge transformation in the group; the elimination of its two existing members and the replacement by two new members. A dramatic change!! But I like their new voice, Hoon! haha. 0330 is considered their new comeback in March. A soothing song with nice melody. Next, they also make another comeback with "Neverland" in September. They just need more attention in Korea :X
SiSTAR being debuted last year alongside with miss A (miss A won this category last year) is also one of the groups that has improved a lot. Thanks to Hyorin to be dubbed as the Korea's Beyonce. I believe SiSTAR will continue to grow stronger in the future.
To my very surprise, Secret has the most hit songs in this year. Being placed #3 with Shy Boy and #6 with Starlight Moonlight in the yearly K-Chart, they indeed achieve a fruitful year.
And f(x) after two years debuting, finally won their first award in Music program with Pinocchio. They also becoming more established like the rest of the SM family.
One of the super rising male group, Infinite has achieved much success with their comeback song "Be Mine". I still remember their earlier songs this year, were considered noticeable but they had a sudden huge popularity with Be Mine and earn them few awards in music programs.
I like Orange Caramel's Bangkok City. Indeed this sub-group gain more attention than After School hehe.

BEST / MOST FAVOURITE MALE GROUP

Dong Bang Shin Ki "Keep Your Head Down"

2PM "Hands Up"
JYJ "In Heaven"

Big Bang "Tonight", "Love Song"
CN.Blue "Intuition"
BEAST "Fiction", "On a Rainy Day"

After the much controversies of TVXQ, the group is back but only with two members. Still, they are considered one of the most respectable groups.
2PM is back for one month promotion of Hands Up. This song is very catchy and just get into the party environment when listening to it.
And JYJ (the other 3 TVXQ) finally released their korean album, "In Heaven". The title track is very nice and also "Get Out". Too bad, they are still in ban from the Korean channels and no promotional cycles for this album.
Big Bang is back after a much hiatus but they had many sub-unit/solo projects. Tonight is considered ok to me, but I like Love Song more.
CN.Blue's Intuition did a fairly nice achievements. Lastly, Beast has showed their powerful performance in Fiction. In fact, I prefer watching them performing Fiction than listening to the song alone.

BEST / MOST FAVOURITE FEMALE GROUP
Wonder Girls "Be My Baby"
SiSTAR "So Cool"

2NE1 "Lonely", "I Am The Best", "Ugly", "Hate You"

T-ARA "Roly Poly", "Cry Cry"
miss A "Goodbye Baby"
SNSD - The Boys
Wonder Girls is finally back with its Korean comeback. Be My Baby is very catchy. A song that will make you to dance along. Besides, I also enjoy watch them performing Be My Baby.
SiSTAR's So Cool comeback was awesome! I always hope that they could win more in music programs but they just won once, bad or good? Well it's depend cause they were being overshadowed by Super Junior that time.
This year can be a fruitful year for 2NE1. 5 out of six songs (well the other one is considered a bonus) topped the real time music. Continuing with their strong girl power, they are one of the best groups.
Then T-ARA's Roly Poly was awesome but I like Cry Cry more. I found that T-ara's singles are being well loved ever since their debut.
miss A's back with Goodbye Baby. The song is quite similar to Bad Girl, Good Girl but Goodbye Baby got its own charm too.
Lastly, SNSD is back with their korean song, The Boys. Well, this song is quite catchy for its beat but then winning 6 continuous K-Chart? :S A different image than the typical SNSD. Still, they are the MOST popular not only in Korea, but all over the world.

Let's wait for the results, probably tomorrow haha.
